Description
• Itraconazole is an azole antifungal. It kills sensitive fungi by interfering with the formation of the fungal cell
membrane.
• Should be taken with food, take immediately after fullmeal.
• Belongs to the class of systemic triazole derivative antimycotics. Used in the treatment of mycotic infections.
• Contraindicated in pregnancy and breast feed.
Indications
• Vulvovaginal candidiasis not responding to topical treatment
• Oral candidiasis in immunocompromised patients
• Onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes
